"The Dark Frontier"

is a multi engine tour in Luxembourg, with a visit to the Trier area of Germany.  Our train will be formed of 3 Wegmann (non air conditioned) vehicles, and the "Rendevous" buffet car from which refreshments will be available throughout the day.  Please note that as we are using freight locomotives on this tour there will be no train heating whatsoever. Please dress appropriately for any inclement weather!

Requested route: Luxembourg – Line 4a – Syren loop – Line 4 – Oetrange – Wasserbillig – Igel – Konz Mitte (reverse) – Karthaus (reverse) – Konz (reverse) – Line 3140 – Trier West – Ehrang yard (reverse) – Trier West – Igel – Wasserbillig – Mertert Port (reverse) – Wasserbillig (reverse) – Oetrange – Line 3 – Sandweiler – Luxembourg – Bettembourg – Bettembourg Yard (reverse) – curve to Esch – Esch sur Alzette (reverse) – Bettembourg – Luxembourg – Wiltz (reverse) – Luxembourg

We have requested the train be hauled by a minimum of 3 different CFL owned locomotives taken from Type's 800, 850, 900, and 1800, however these will be subject to on the day availability. Each locomotive will be attached or detached from the train at locations decided upon by CFL to suit operational circumstances! In addition, whilst in Germany we have requested the use of 2 DB Cargo diesel locomotives in "Top and Tail" mode.
